PREPARING YOUR VEHICLE FOR STORAGE
  • Complete vehicle inspection by our trained staff
  • Wash vehicle
  • Thoroughly vacuum and clean car interior
  • Check all fluid levels
  • Raise tire pressure to help prevent flat spots
  • Check battery condition - clean battery terminals
  • We require you to fill your gas tank
  • We add fuel-stabilizing additive to prevent the gas from oxidizing and deteriorating.  An empty or low fuel tank can rust internally as moisture accumulates inside the tank.

OPTIONAL SERVICES TO CONSIDER
  • Replace your battery, if your current battery is more than 3 years old
  • A complete detail will help minimize vehicle deterioration and corrosion during storage by removing road grit, acid rain residue and road salt.
  • Prior to storage have any needed body repairs performed, dents removed, scraped bumpers air brushed, scraped wheels repaired and chipped or broken glass repaired.
  • Change engine oil and filter before storage
  • Flush and replace engine coolant and brake fluid
  • Perform all services need to maintain vehicle in top running condition
  • Inflate tires with NITROGEN – improves braking, tire wear and helps eliminate wheel corrosion
  • We sell car covers to help protect your vehicle while in storage
 
WHILE YOUR VEHICLE IS IN STORAGE
  • Vehicles are stored indoors in a clean, dry and climate controlled warehouse (heated in winter and naturally cool in the summer) protecting your vehicle from extreme temperature changes.
  • Vehicles are in a secure warehouse, with limited access by Knauz employees and monitored by our security company.
  • The warehouse is protected by a sprinkler system that is monitored and inspected annually.
  • Vehicles are stored locked
  • Every 15 days vehicles are started brought up to operating temperature – doors are opened to let vehicle “air out”, and the air conditioner and heater are turned on.  This will minimize the possibility of a vehicle developing a Musty odor.
  • Monthly, vehicles are moved within our warehouse to lessen the possibility of tires developing flat spots.
  • Owner will be notified any time a vehicle does not start or a problem is noted.
